NCB destroys over 20 kgs ‘hashish’

JAMMU, Jan 17: Narcotics Control Bureau Zonal Unit Jammu destroyed over 20 kilograms of narcotics drugs (hashish).
As per official spokesman, Narcotics Control Bureau, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, Zonal Unit Jammu has disposed of 20.093 kilograms of narcotics drugs (hashish) by burning through incinerator fitted with M/s Cadila Pharmaceuticals Limited, Phase-1, Samba in the presence of Drug Disposal Committee after observing all the requisite formalities and obtaining authentication orders from the respective court.
The drug was seized in 4 different cases since 2013 onward and disposed of under the chairmanship of Manoj Kumar, Zonal Director, NCB Jammu with two other members namely Basant Kumar, Assistant Commissioner, Customs and Central Excise and Ranjit Singh, Senior Intelligence Officer, Department of Revenue Intelligence, Jammu.
Superintendent KP Tiwari and other staff of the unit were also present during the entire process of destruction of seized drugs.
The drive against drug traffickers in J&K will continue in future as well as disposal of seized narcotics drugs in a time bound manner will also be ensured, the spokesman added.
