JAMMU, Nov 16: A delegation of National Conference (NC) Minority Cell led by its president, M K Yogi called on Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner R K Pandita and discussed various issues of displaced people with him.
The delegation demanded that relief assistance and ration slips be distributed in time, supply of ration be made in time to migrants, providing of medical facilities to migrants including ambulance facilities in camps and supply of life saving drugs in camp dispensaries with round the clock doctors be kept on duty,
The meeting, while demanding immediate issuance of RBA certificates to migrants, expressed concern over stopping of this practice abruptly. The delegation also showed concern over the harassment caused to migrants by the ZOs and other staff.
The Relief Commissioner informed the delegation that already various steps were taken and staff has been instructed not to create problems for the migrants seeking help and assistance from the organization. Bal Krishan Bhat, Amit Koul, Ashwani Bhat, Ajay Kher, Roshan Lal Bhat and Kumar Ji were in the delegation.
