JAMMU, Feb 11: Former Minister and senior National Conference leader Pandit Govind Ram Sharma urged the Government to initiate work on the four laning of Jammu-Akhnoor road expeditiously keeping in view the increasing vehicular movement.
In a statement, Sharma and former Legislators Kashmira Singh, Brij Mohan Sharma and Bushan Lal Bhat said that frequent jams at Canal Road and Bakshi Nagar during peak hours are creating lot of problems to the commuters.
They said that the Government has already acquired the road for four laning of Akhnoor road and emphasised the importance of the highway which remains ever busy due to civil and Army vehicular movement.
