NC to back Farooq, Omar decision

SRINAGAR, Dec 30: Senior NC leader and Party general secretary Ali Mohammed today said that all the Legislators of his Party will support any decision taken by Party president Dr Farooq Abdullah and its working president, Omar Abdullah for the Government formation in the State.
Addressing a first ever meeting of the newly elected legislators of the Party Headquarters here today, Sagar said that all the legislators have reposed their faith in the leadership of Dr Abdullah and Omar Abdullah and will abide by their decision on Government formation in the State. In the meeting, the elected representatives declared to work hard to strengthen the roots of the party all across the State.
They also vowed to defend the Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir and the Party programs like Naya Kashmir,
The meeting of all the newly elected MLA’s from different parts of the State was convened here at the Party Headquarters which was chaired by the party general secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar.
In the meeting all the MLA’s vowed to fight tooth and nail to protect and maintain the special status enjoyed by the Jammu and Kashmir State.
Sagar also conveyed the gratitude of Dr Farooq Abdullah to newly elected MLA’s from the Party and he expressed the hope that all the elected representatives will work tirelessly for the welfare of the people of all three regions of the State.
Sagar appealed the divisional administration to take steps on war-footing basis for the rehabilitation of the flood victims.
He said rehabilitation of the flood victims has been prioritized by the N C and all the necessary steps will be taken to ease out the problems faced by those affected by floods.
He hailed the efforts of the Party working president Omar Abdullah taken during the floods.
“It was a very timely action that cheques worth Rs 75,000, Rs 12600 and Rs 3800 were provided to people so that they could restart the construction work while the winters were approaching,” Sagar said and added “In absence of funds, and the unnecessary delay in releasing the Rs 44,000 crore as asked by Omar Abdullah, only little amount could be provided to the people who were left homeless by the great deluge.”
Urging the Central Government to provide the Rs 44,000 crore package as soon as possible, he said N C stands by its commitment to help the people affected by the floods.
