RAJOURI, June 11: Nazia Kouser, wife of a National Conference leader Waqar Ahmed Bhatti has demanded action against her husband and his supporter, DDC Chairman Naseem Liaqat Choudhary for her victimization and harassment and also appealed NC president Dr Farooq Abdullah to take cognizance of the matter.
The victim, Nazia Kouser from Budhal during a press conference here today alleged that her husband – Waqar Ahmed Bhatti who is associated with National Conference (NC) took her daughter away from her and does not allow her to meet her daughter for the past eight months. She also levelled allegations of physical and mental torture to her.
She disclosed that due to a delay in the justice process at CWC, she then approached the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri for his intervention into the matter. The Deputy Commissioner after getting apprised of the matter immediately directed the ACR to produce the alleged person in the court of the ACR/DM.
“Before coming to the court of the ACR, he has made contact with the District Development Council Chairman, Naseem Liyaqat Chowdhury,” she alleged.
Her husband, in the court of the ACR, used some harsh and unparliamentary words and even manhandled the officials and so he was detained.
But as her husband is a Proviancial Secretary of the Youth National Conference, some local leader of NC could not tolerate that the Deputy Commissioner who is an honest and upright officer should intervene in the matter.
She condemned the NC leader and DDC Chairman Rajouri Naseem Liaqat and said instead of providing her justice, DDC Chairman Rajouri supported the criminal leader and held a press conference against the honest and competent DC Rajouri. She said DDC Chairman has supported the criminal person so he has lost all rights to remain the DDC Chairman and demanded his resignation.
Expressing gratitude to the DC she said the Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Shavan has listened her grievances and assured that justice will be done to her. The aggrieved woman said that the NC leaders, for their interest, are transforming this domestic issue into a political agenda and trying to disgrace the image of the Deputy Commissioner, which shows their narrow-minded approach.
She appealed the NC president, Dr Farooq Abdullah to take action against these two NC leaders and provide her justice.
