Navyug HSS organizes chess, badminton championship

JAMMU, Feb 16: Navyug Higher Secondary School organized chess and badminton championships on the 3rd day of the ongoing sports week  in the school premises.
About 110 students from senior group (class 8th to 10th) and junior group (5th to 8th ) participated in badminton and chess tournament.
In senior group: Kushal, Jatin, Reshiwar and Shagun managed to reach semi final of chess championship where as in junior group Khushi, Nitin, Harsh, Ripul, Shubam reached semi final.
In Badminton: Reshiwar, Shagun, Deepak, Rishab, Abhinandan, Pranav of senior group managed to reach quarter finals whereas Tania, Anchta, Rashi, Jatin, Pranab and Himanshu of junior group also reached the quarter finals.
The quarter final and final match of the chess and badminton championship shall be played on Febuary 19, 2014.
In sub junior group, competitions of “pick n run” and  lemon spoon race were held.
