JAMMU, Aug 30: Nav Yug Higher Secondary School, organized English Spellathon Competition in the School premises, here today.
About 210 students from Class 1st to 5th participated with great zeal and enthusiasm.
The objective of the competition was to enrich vocabulary and pronunciation of the students.
The gold medal winners from Classes 1st, 2nd, 3rd , 4th and 5th included Sanjeev; Keshavi and Tamana; Kartavya; Anmol and Sanchit and Palak respectively.
The silver medals were bagged by Makul, Siya and Poonam (Class 5th); Komal and Neha (Class 4th); Appurva, Vanshik, Sukhmanjeet and Manish (Class 3rd); Mriganka (Class 2nd) and Utraksh (Class 1st) and the bronze was bagged by Karmanya, Manav, Jannvi, Ridhima and Aditi respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, Hardev Singh Jamwal said that spellings improve reading and writing fluency, vocabulary and comprehension.
