Jammu, Feb 4: Natrang staged back to back two shows of the mega cultural show ‘Rangla Jammu’ on the opening day of 101st Indian Science Congress being held at University of Jammu.
Governor NN Vohra was the chief guest during the first show and Prof RC Sobti, President Indian Science Congress Association presided over the second show. Prominent personalities who graced the show included Usha Vohra First Lady of the State, Prof MPS Ishar, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu, Shantmanu,  Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Naveen  K Chowdhary, Principal Secretary to Governor,   Pawan Kotwal, Commissioner PHE, and  Ajeet Kumar Sahu DC Jammu.
Designed and directed by Padamshree Balwant Thakur and presented by Natrang Jammu this 150 performers power packed showcased the ultimate heights of the glorification of Jammu’s diverse culture and heritage. This world class performance kept the audience spellbound and the artists were repeatedly applauded for their mind-blowing performance.
‘Rangla Jammu’ is the unique cultural album of Jammu region showcasing the variegated variety of different colours, rhythms, costumes, designs patterns and artistic expressions.
This superb bouquet of rarest performing art traditions fantastically unfolded the rare creative traditions and cultural expressions of Jammu. ‘Rangla Jammu’ opened with Late Dinu Bhai Pant’s poem ‘Mere Dese Daa Shelepa Meri Akhi Kane Dikh’ (See the chic great thing about my land through my eyes) undoubtedly a very this that came on stage afterwards was simply magical. It started with the normal instrumental type of Jammu and therefore the show was brightened up with rarest of the people instruments like ‘King’, ‘Narsingha’, ‘Flute’, ‘Sarangi’ and ‘Dogra Dhol’. This was followed by the rarest singing traditions of Dogras like ‘Karkan’, Bhakhan’, ‘Geetru’ and ‘Shinjan’. This singing community that is additional called warriors have the distinctive singing traditions as their singing never stops be it birth or death.

The presentations of the show were done by Aarushi Thakur.
