National Terrorism-Day observed

JAMMU, May 21: National Terrorism-Day was observed across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh led the officers and jawans in commemorating the National Anti-Terrorism Day pledge across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

Simple but impressive functions were organized observing COVID-19 protocols, and all preventive measures like maintaining social distance and wearing of masks in the respective districts/units and offices. Officers and jawans took pledge to continue their fight against the menace of terrorism.
The DGP read out the pledge to the officers and jawans at office of Superintendent Police Operation Srinagar.
Besides, IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar the pledge function was attended by the DIG CKR Mohammad Suleman Choudhary, SSP Srinagar Dr Haseeb Mughul, SSP operation Srinagar Tahir Bhatti and other gazetted officers of the district.
At Police Headquarter Jammu a function was organized in the conference hall of PHQ. The function was presided over by IGP Headquarter Gareeb Dass.
Following proper health protocols, IGP Headquarter Gareeb Dass and IGP CIV Alok Kumar read out the pledge to uphold and promote peace, social harmony and understanding among all fellow human beings and fight the forces of disruption threatening human lives and values.
The function was attended by Director Prosecution PHQ S M Kapoor, AIG (P&T) PHQ, Rayees Ahmad, AIG (Pers) PHQ Rajeshwar Singh, AIG CIV Rajesh Bali, AIG Welfare/ Communication Manoj Pandith and other gazetted officers of PHQ besides the subordinate staff of headquarter.
Meanwhile the Anti Terrorism Day was observed at all District Police Headquarters, Armed Battalions, Railway Police Headquarter Jammu, Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy and other training institutions of Jammu and Kashmir Police. The supervisory and controlling officers led their subordinates by reading out the pledge.
The day was observed with a simple function organized at Zonal Police Headquarters Jammu. IGP Jammu Zone Mukesh Singh read out the Preamble of the message to uphold and promote peace, social harmony and understanding among all fellow beings. The function was also attended by DIG JKS Range, SO to IGP Jammu and the staff of ZPHQ. Moreover, the Anti terrorism day pledge was celebrated at all District Police Headquarters of Jammu Zone and the “preamble” was read out followed by pledge on the occasion.
On the occasion of Anti Terrorism Day, Police in Rajouri district held respective events at all the Police establishments including District Police Office Rajouri, District Police Lines, Police Stations and Police Posts in Rajouri. At all the Police establishments, pledge was taken against the terrorism with police personnel from all ranks took part in it and incharges of police establishments recited the pledge which was repeated by all the participating officials.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rajouri Chandan Kohli in his statement said that terrorism is one of the biggest challenge for the nation. A concerted effort is required by everyone to deal with terrorism, he added.
On National Anti Terrorism Day, while maintaining social distance, a pledge was taken in Police Station Akhnoor where all jawans of Police Station Akhnoor, staff of SDPO office and CISF personnel of 246 Coy took pledge to fight against terrorism. Pledge was administered by SDPO Akhnoor Ajay Sharma in presence of Coy Commander 246 Coy CISF Tilak Raj and SHO Akhnoor Inspector Pardeep Sharma. Similar pledge taking ceremony took place in all the sub units of police Subdivision Akhnoor ie PS Gharota, PS Khour, PP pragwal, PP Jourian, PP Pallanwala, PP Chowki chora, BPP Garkhal, BPP Jogwan, BPP Malha. Programme was organized simultaneously at all units of Police Sub Division Akhnoor under the guidance of SP Rural Suram Singh and overall supervision of SSP Jammu Shridhar Patil.
Police Technical Training Institute (PTTI) observed Anti-Terrorism Day in a befitting manner after observing social distancing. On this occasion, a pledge was also taken by the police personnel of the Institute to mark the occasion. While speaking on the occasion, Rajinder Kumar Gupta, SSP, Principal PTTI Vijaypur enlightened the objective behind the observance of this day. Among others, Rajinder Singh Rahi, SP, Vice Principal PTTI Vijaypur, Hafiz Ullah Sheikh, DySP (R&D/Tech), Shamsher Singh Sambyal, (DySP Outdoor/ Security), Rakesh Sambyal (Sr PO), Prithipal Singh (Sr PO), Yash Paul Singh, DySP. Inspector Anil Sagar (RI), Inspector Ravinder Singh, Inspector Anil Kumar, Inspector Bhopinder Singh, Inspector Rattan Singh, Inspector Manoj Kumar and Inspector Renu Rattan were present on the occasion.
On the eve of Anti Terrorism Day, a pledge taking ceremony was held in the SKPA Udhampur in which officers and officials of the Academy participated. Mohan Lal, SSP, AD (Outdoor/Indoor) while speaking on the occasion, highlighted the menace of terrorism, the acts of terrorism being callous and grisly are the greatest threat to the peaceful existence of human worldwide.
NHPC, India’s premier hydropower company, observed Anti-Terrorism Day at its Corporate Office and across all its Regional offices, Power Stations and Projects. AK Singh, Chairman and Managing Director, NHPC administered the oath of Anti-Terrorism Day to staff of the CMD Secretariat. Ratish Kumar, Director (Projects), NK Jain, Director (Personnel), MK Mittal, Director (Finance) and YK Chaubey, Director (Technical) administered the oath to the staff of their respective offices.
Like other parts of the country, Anti-Terrorism Day was observed in Kargil. To mark the day, people expressed their strong resolve to defeat the evil of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. In this connection the main function was held in the premises of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Office Kargil where several district officers and the staff of DC Office Kargil led by the Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil Tsering Motup took the Anti-Terrorism Pledge solemnly and while expressing their strong faith in India’s tradition of non-violence and tolerance exuded their firm commitment to oppose with all strength all forms of terrorism and violence.
Similar Anti-Terrorism Pledge were taken by the employees of Youth Services and Sports Department Kargil, Ladakh Academy of Art, Culture and Languages Kargil, Department of Information and Public Relations Kargil and other departments.
