KATRA, Mar 28: Two-day National seminar on new Challenges and Avenues in Philosophy was inaugurated at Matrika Auditorium of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, here today. Prof Bhuvanesh Sharma, Vice Chancellor, Maha Rishi Mahesh Yogi Vedic University, Madhya Pradesh was the chief guest and Prof V K Bhat, Dean Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences was the chairperson of the inaugural session.
In his inaugural address, Prof Bhuvanesh Sharma said that all sciences explore the laws of nature and philosophy gives the complete understanding and cognizing ability to those laws of nature.
Speaking on the occasion, the Dean, Prof V K Bhat said that the spirit of enquiry which is the essence of philosophy is the main reason for the survival of philosophy and this spirit needs to be carried forward.
Registrar, Ajay Khajuria also spoke on the occasion.
Dr Anil Tiwari presented the theme of the Seminar and Dr V K Tripathi, Director School of Philosophy and Culture delivered the welcome address.
