National Lok Adalats held

JAMMU, Nov 13: A National Lok Adalat was organized by Sanjay Gupta, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Principal District and Sessions Judge at District Court Complex, here. In the Lok Adalat 20 benches were constituted in which 7365 cases of different nature were taken up, out of which 6307 cases were disposed-off. 166 bank cases were taken up, out of which 56 cases were settled in pre-Lok Adalat sessions and recovery of Rs 99 lakh was made. 66 bank cases were settled in National Lok Adalat and an amount of Rs 60014479 were recovered. 117 MACT cases were taken up out of which 90 cases were settled and an amount of Rs 30474000 were awarded as compensation. 16 labour dispute cases were taken up, out of which 7 cases were settled and an amount of Rs 540457 was awarded. In criminal compound, traffic challan, electricity and passenger tax cases, a total fine of Rs 529200 was realized. In railway offences, ARTO, civil defence, consumer, 36 Police Act, caveats, COPTA and other miscellaneous cases, fine of Rs 393024 was realized.
DODA: A National Lok Adalat was organized at Tehsil Legal Services Committee (TLSC) Headquarter Court Complex here under the chairmanship of OP Thakur, Chairman TLSC, CJM Doda and was assisted by Additional Special Mobile Magistrate Arun Kumar Kotwal. In the Lok Adalat, a total of 66 cases were amicably compromised and an award of Rs 496500 was passed and a fine of Rs 9150 was also recovered on spot. In pre-litigations, 56 matters were decided and an amount of Rs 118120 was recovered on the spot and Rs 415000 was award in the cases pertaining to bank suits, electricity cases and PHE cases.
POONCH: National Lok Adalat was organized in all the courts here. At district headquarter, Lok Adalat was held in District Court Complex, which was presided over by Chairman DLSA Tahir Khurshid Raina, Principal District and Sessions Judge. The welcome address was presented by Secretary DLSA Wajahat Kazmi. Four benches were constituted during the Lok Adalat. First bench was headed by Chairman DLSA Tahir Khurshid Raina and assisted by Assistant Commissioner Revenue and Bar President, second bench was headed by Chief Judicial Magistrate Surfraz Hussain  Shah and assisted by ACD Poonch and Executive Engineer PDD, the third bench was headed by Ahsan Malik Sub-Judge Poonch and assisted by Former Bar President and AEE  PDD and fourth bench was headed by District Mobile Magistrate Poonch Wajahat Kazmi. A total of 4547 cases were settled and total revenue recovered was one crore sixteen lakh thirty five hundred. The programme was conducted by Secretary Bar Association Poonch Anjum Mehmood, while the vote of thanks was presented by Advocate Iftikhar Bazmi.
