Narcotic smuggler arrested, 20 grams of Heroin seized

KATHUA, Feb 15 : To eradicate the menace of drugs from the society and take stringent action against drug peddlers within district, Kathua police under the overall supervision of SSP, Shivdeep Singh Jamwal today recovered 20.69 grams of Heroin (Chitta) like narcotics at Banyari Bridge area of PS Rajbagh. One narcotic smuggler was arrested and narcotic substance as well as vehicle (Alto K10 Car) was seized on the spot.
Police said today its team led by Sub Inspector (SI), Arjun Singh in charge Police Post (PP) Marheen under the supervision of SDPO Border, Pankaj Soodan and Inspector, Amit Sangra SHO Police Station (PS), Rajbagh during routine patrolling duty in its jurisdictional area noticed the movement of one suspicious vehicle(Alto K10 Car) bearing Registration Number, JK08G-8408 which was driven by Arun Singh son of Kartar Singh of Ramkot. During checking 20.69 grams of Heroin (Chitta) like narcotics was recovered from his possession.
Thereafter all the recovered narcotic substance as well as vehicle was seized and narcotic smuggler was arrested. A case FIR No. 32/2023 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Rajbagh. Further investigation is underway.
