JAMMU, May 10: Police arrested a narcotic smuggler along with 500 grams of charas from Bhawani Nagar area, falling under the jurisdiction of Janipur police station.
A police spokesman said that, police team from Janipur police station laid a naka at Bhawani Nagar and intercepted a pedestrian on suspicious grounds.
During checking, police recovered 500 grams of charas and arrested the accused.
The narcotic smuggler has been identified as Sanju Anand, son of Ashok Anand, a resident of Shakti Nagar.
A case under FIR number 100/15 under Section 8/20 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Janipur police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Janipur police station Inspector Ajit Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO West Sandeep Choudhary, SP North Shiv Kumar Singh Chouhan and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
