Namgyal submits memorandum of demands to MoS

JAMMU, Apr 16: State spokesperson and Incharge Ladakh Affairs Jamyang Tsering Namgyal submitted a memorandum to Minister of State Chering Dorjay Lakrook highlighting the problems being face by the thousands of Ladakhi students studying in and outside Ladakh.
In the memorandum, Namgyal highlighted the issues including timely allocation of dispatched Post Metric Scholarship for ST Students of Ladakh region and effective implementation of the announced Direct Benefit Transfer Line (DBTL) system in Scholarship distribution to the bank account of the beneficiaries directly, issuance of LPG cylinder/card to the students of Ladakh studying in Srinagar/Jammu, creation of the Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE) centre, creation of Institution of Banking and Personal Selection (IBPS) Examination Center in Leh, creation of Jammu and Kashmir Public Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) Examination Center in Leh, opening of Medical College at SNM Hospital Leh and Upgradation of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) Study Center Leh to IGNOU Regional Center Leh.
Namygyal urged the Minister for his personal attention and necessary actions in favour of the demands on priority basis.
After examining the demands, Minister asked Principal Secretary to take up the matter of setting up of J&K PSC Centre and J&KBOPEE Centre in Leh and Kargil with the concerned authorities.
Minister also took up the matters of setting up of Banking and Personal Selection (IBPS) Examination Center in Leh and Kargil, timely allocation of disbursement of Post-Matric Scholarship to ST Students of Ladakh and issuance of LPG Connection on concession basis in favour of Ladakhi students in Srinagar and Jammu, during the period of their study with the concerned and asked them to put arrangement in place from the current year.
