DODA, Feb 12: NABARD Consultancy Services (NABCONS) today organized one day Capacity Building Programme (CBP) on Forward Markets for traders of district.
In the beginning, the traders were made aware about the genesis of commodity exchanges and how they work by Rajesh Badyal, DDM NABARD. Thereafter, they were apprised of the commodities which are being traded in these exchanges.
They were explained in detail the players involved in the process and the terminology being used in such exchanges viz derivatives- spot, forward and futures, advantage and disadvantage of forwards, market participants- Hedgers, Speculators and Arbitragers and the basic principles of hedging and speculation.
Though it was a new concept for the traders of Doda yet during the interactive session the traders found the programme very knowledgeable and were of the opinion that what they gained will be utilized fully once the digitalization in Doda is taken up.
