ANANTNAG, July 8: Under Skill Development initiative, NABARD has completed the free training programme of 30 rural youth from Anantnag and Kulgam districts.
The 45 day certified training course on Food and Beverage steward was carried out by Learnet Skills Pvt Ltd at Bijbehara.
The valediction ceremony in this regard was presided over by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Anantnag, Bashir Ahmad Wani and attended by DDM NABARD, LDM, Director RSETI, Centre Head Learnet and prominent hoteliers and industry experts.
Speaking on the occasion, DDM NABARD, Rouf Zargar informed that NABARD has sanctioned various Skill Development Programmes to professional skill agencies across the UT and provides financial assistance towards the conduct of such courses.
Giving details about the programme, he said that 30 youth which included 12 female candidates were imparted training under Food and Beverage stewardship course by Learnet Skills Pvt Ltd which included theory classes and practical.
The candidates were given exposure to various hotels across the valley to give them the first-hand exposure of catering and service.
On this occasion, the ADDC handed over job offer letters to eleven candidates who have been placed in various 3 and 4 star hotels in Pahalgam, Srinagar and Gulmarg.
He urged upon the training agency to provide the continuous handholding support to remaining candidates and ensure that they are settled within a period of 12 months as per the guidelines of NABARD.
Lead District Manager, Shariq Ahmad and Director RSETI, Nisar Ahmad also congratulated the candidates for opting for such unique and job-oriented course.
