UDHAMPUR, May 24: Police arrested a man, who was evading his arrest after killing a Bakerwal in Kheri area.
As per police sources, a bakerwal identified as Liaqat, son of Mirza of Duru, Anantnag, at present Mian Bagh, district Udhampur was killed at Kheri on May 14, when he was taking his animals to Duru.
After getting information, police rushed to the spot and after completing legal formalities, it was handed over to family members for last rites.
A case under FIR number 165/15 was registered at Udhampur police station and investigation started.
To arrest the accused, SSP Udhampur Suleman Chowdhary constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT).
Working professionally and after reading all the clues, SIT finally nabbed the accused, who has been identified as Nizakat, son of Lateefa of Kheri.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
SIT headed by SHO Udhampur police station Inspector Mahesh Sharma made the arrest under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Gourav Mahajan, Additional SP Mohan Lal Kaith and SSP Udhampur Suleman Chowdhary.
