KATRA, Apr 19: GRP Katra has arrested all the accused persons involved in murder of one Akhshay Kumar , son of Rattan Chand of Tan Katra, who was attacked near Railway Guest House on April 17 evening and later succumbed to his injuries at GMC Hospital Jammu.
The arrested accused have been identified as Sahil Sharma alias Munna , son of Tara Chand of Nelay Katra, Rahul, son of Surinder Kumar of Chintamani Katra and Anju Devi alias Billi. The trio had allegedly intercepted the deceased when he was on way to market from his home.
According to Police, deceased Akshay Kumar was attacked by Sahil Sharma with sharp edged weapon (Kirch type) with the attention to kill him and after committing the crime, the trio fled away from the spot.
Inflicted with deep wounds, the victim was shifted to GMC Hospital Jammu where he succumbed to his injuries. In this regard, the case was registered at P/S GRP Katra initially under section 307/34 IPC, 4/25 Arms Act and later on the case was converted into 302/34 IPC, 4/25 Arms act.
The accused persons were arrested yesterday by GRP Katra with the cooperation of District Police under the overall supervision of SSP Railways Katra, Sanjay Kumar Kotwal.
