JAMMU, Aug 27: Continuing the drive against the menace of adulteration on the eve of Janamashtmi, the Health Officer Jammu Municipal Corporation, Dr Vinod Sharma along-with a team of Food Safety Officers, Assistant Sanitation Officers, Sanitary Inspectors & other field staff conducted an extensive tour in the city areas for checking quality of commonly used food items.
The Health wing team visited New Plot, Sarwal, Mast Garh, Muthi, Bantalab, Roop Nagar etc and inspected various food establishments like Halwai shops, Cut fruit shops / Rehries, Ice cream units, etc.
During the checking, compounding fee of Rs 5400 was realized from the defaulters and about 20 kg of polythene was also seized. Moreover two food samples of milk & dahi were also lifted from different parts of Jammu city and sent to Public Analyst Jammu for ascertaining their standard of purity.
