JAMMU, Nov 3: Tahir Khurshid Raina, Special Judge, Anti-Corruption Court, Jammu, today asserted that the crusade against corruption should start from the homes, schools, and the religious institutions, forging a comprehensive and multipronged approach to tackle the issue.

He was speaking in a capacity building workshop organised by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) at the J&K Police Auditorium, Gulshan Ground Jammu, as part of the Vigilance Awareness Week 2023.
As per a statement, the workshop drew participation from a diverse array of stakeholders, including Departmental Vigilance Officers, DIG JSK Range, SSP Jammu, Jurisdictional SPs, SDPOs, SHOs, investigating officers from Police Stations as well as officers and officials of ACB. Students from different law colleges also attended the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Tahir Khurshid Raina, Special Judge, Anti-Corruption Court, Jammu, who was Chief Guest on the occasion, elucidated on varied strategies to eliminate the scourge of corruption from the society.
He stressed the urgency of involving all members of society in the fight against corruption. He underscored that combating corruption is not solely the Government’s responsibility; it requires collective moral strength and consciousness.
“We’ve to commence a crusade from our homes, schools, and the religious platforms, forging a comprehensive and multipronged approach to tackle this menace,” he said.
Addressing the legal dimensions of the matter, the special judge highlighted the importance of fair, professional, and foolproof investigations by the law enforcement agencies, regardless of the status of the accused, to ensure that wrongdoers face the consequences of their actions.
Ramesh Kumar, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, who was the Guest of the Honour on the occasion, acknowledged the value of ACB’s regular alert notes and advisories, underscoring the role of technology in monitoring Government employees’ performance.
Dalip Kumar, SSP, ACB Jammu, provided insights into the functioning of the ACB through a brief presentation.
He proposed that meticulous documentation of office procedures could pinpoint responsibility in cases of lapses.
The event concluded with Director ACB/IGP, Jammu Zone, Anand Jain expressing gratitude to Judge Tahir Khurshid Raina for his participation.
