MULBPA highlights demands

JAMMU, Sept 3: A meeting of Municipal and Urban Local Bodies Pensioners’ Association (MULBPA), Jammu Province was held here today under the chairmanship of working president of the association, JR Sharma to highlight their demands.
The meeting expressed anguish over the State Government as well as officers of Finance Department for not fulfilling their demands including removal of anomaly amongst family pensioners (Safai Karamcharis Class IV), bifurcation of monthly pensionary funds gratuity or commutation, disbursement of 10% DA installments due from January 2014 and release of 6th Pay Commission arrear installments.
The speakers also demanded enhancement of medical allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 1000 per month and additional financial pensionary benefits after the age of 70 years and above to the pensioners as per Central Government’ 6th Pay Commission recommendations.
The meeting appealed Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to take early decisions on their demands keeping in view the sky rocketing prices of essential commodities.
