ANANTNAG, Mar 31: Member Parliament and the NC-Congress coalition candidate from Anantnag, Dr. Mehboob Beg addressed workers’ meetings in Bijbehara Assembly constituency in Anantnag today and sought public support.
Speaking to workers and the public, Dr. Beg said that PDP had deceived the area that had sent the Mufti family to the Legislature and the Parliament. It was Bijbehara that gave Muftis an opportunity to have a political identity by bringing Mufti Mohammad Sayeed back from oblivion but Muftis never looked back at the people who gave them this identity and opportunity. PDP has always taken the people of Bijbehara for a ride.
Dr. Beg said that PDP was in a tactical alliance with the Narendra Modi led BJP and this arrangement poses a serious threat to the special status of J&K. This election is about an idelogical battle between secularism and communal forces who aim at polarizing the people of India across religous lines and have a plan to weaken Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. Beg said that National Conference will never allow Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to play with the dignity and honour of our people for his vested political interests.
Dr. Bashir Ahmed Veeri also addressed the gathering and asked people to vote in large numbers in favour of the NC-Congress coalition candidate.
