MSME Ministry organizes awareness prog on incentives to hoteliers, traders

KATRA, Feb 13: Ministry of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), in association with Hotel & Restaurant Association, Katra (HRAK) and Jammu Region Chapter of PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry (PHDCCI) organized a programme in which representatives of major financial institutions provided information and guidance with regard to various schemes and incentives being provided by the Government and particularly the Department of MSME to hoteliers, traders and business community.
Speaking on the occasion, President Hotel & Restaurant Association Katra and Chairman PHD Chamber of Commerce, Rakesh Wazir said that business as a whole can’t develop until and unless the entrepreneurs, financial institutions and Government departments go together.
However, he added, the biggest problem in this regard was that most of the people do not even know the various schemes and incentives being provided by the Government and the entrepreneurs could not even avail those incentives and the programmes.
Wazir further said that the major purpose of those incentives is that with the coming of new units major employment is generated besides development of the area is done and this becomes the responsibility of the business community also to invest whole heartedly in the new ventures.
While speaking on the occasion, Joint Director Industries, Trishala elaborated in detail the incentives in-force including subsidy on new units, subsidy for substantial expansion, interest subsidy of two percent on all loans disbursed after 2017, etc.
Deputy Director Industries, Dr Ashwani Kumar and Asstt Director MSME, Mohit Kumar, while speaking on the occasion, requested the representatives of various financial institutions to pass on the benefits of incentives particularly 2 percent interest subvention to the entrepreneurs.
Shyam Lal Kesar, Chairman HRAK, Rahul Sahai, Co-Chairman PHDCCI Jammu Region and Virender Kesar, Sr Vice President HRAK and convener/Head Reasi District, while speaking on the occasion, urged the authorities that all the benefits which are available to the Industries be made available to the Hotel Industry as well.
The meeting among others was attended by Vivek Sharma, Vice president HRAK; Koushal Magotra, Convener/Head PHDCCI Patnitop; Rakesh Sharma, Arun Kumar, Amit Sharma and Sohan Kohli.
