MPDA of Transport Nagar highlights encroachment issue

JAMMU, Sept 2: Motor Parts Dealers Association, Transport Nagar, Jammu today held a meeting under the chairmanship of Association president, Rajinder Parshad Kakkar and discussed the development of Transport Nagar.

Speakers in the meeting said that approach road to Transport Nagar from Divisional Commissioner's Office with underpass road of railway lines has become a hectic driving road since last many years.

They said that fixed locked tiles have been laid over a portion of the road which have failed to bear the load of jam packed traffic while a Nallah there overflows causing inconvenience.

The Association demanded repair of the road and fixing of street lights there.

The Association members voiced for anti-encroachment drive along the main road of Transport Nagar and also in all the seven yards there as illegal encroachment has been done there by roadside eatery, kiosks and permanently parked junked vehicles without any proper legal documents.

They claimed that some scrap dealers have also captured the roads by their junked scrap which also hurdles free flow of traffic.

The Association demanded anti-encroachment drive in the area jointly by Traffic Police, JDA, JMC and other authorities.

Among others, Sham Singh Bhau, Sanjay Dogra, Mohinder Pal Singh, Jaswinder Singh and Sikander Sharma were also present in the meeting.
