JAMMU, June 7: All Mohalla Welfare Committee Patta Bohri protested against Aquaf Jammu which has encroached the land for flats at Patta Bohri,Talab Tillo, near here.
A large number of residents of different Mohallas of Patta Bohri, Anand Nagar, Anand Vihar, Surya Vihar, Manorma Colony, Om Nagar, Udhaywalla, Hazuri Bagh, Poonch House and Talab Tillo gathered in front of Dy. Commissioner’s Office here under the leadership of Rajveer Singh and raised slogans against Aquaf Jammu.
While addressing the activists Mr. Rajveer said that the people of Patta Bohri area are suffering from many diseases like Diabetes, B.P, Asthma and many other diseases but there is no park for them to walk and they are demanding park for the last many years but it is unfortunate that the Government is not paying any attention towards their demands… and now Aquaf Jammu administrator is trying to claim the vacant land for their commercial purposes to build flats, which will never be tolerated by the residents of the area.
After the protest the deputation of All Mohalla Welfare Committee led by Rajveer Singh called on Dy Commissioner Jammu and submitted a memorandum demanding that the land be converted into park. The Dy. Commissioner assured them that he will take up the matter with concerned officials of the Board.
