BALRAMPUR/SIDHARTHNAGAR, May 9: BJP president Amit Shah on Thursday said that Prime Minister Narendra must get another term as his reign would see the end of caste-based politics which is hampering development of the country.
Ahead of the pen-ultimate sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections in 14 seats of Uttar Pradesh, of which the BJP had won 12 in 2014, Mr Shah said, “Mr Modi will end the caste politics which is the main hurdle in the development of the country.”
Asking the voters to shed caste and creed politics, he said that this time development will overshadow the politics of caste in UP, and BJP will win 74 plus seats.
“Those who are spreading poison in the society would get defeated as people would not support them,” he said.
“This is my 296th election meeting and I can say with honesty that there is no challenge for the BJP this time. Modi is everywhere while the opposition is nowhere.”
The BJP president gave a report on the five years achievement of the Modi government and how the lives of poor people were transformed by government schemes which provided them free houses, toilets, LPG gas and power connections.
Mr Shah claimed that the entire opposition, including the SP-BSP combine, has already accepted defeat and after the end of the five phase of polling, their hopes have been shattered.
Mr Shah alleged that Congress president Rahul Gandhi, BSP chief Mayawati and SP president Akhilesh Yadav want that Kashmir gets separated from India.
“BJP will end Article 370 of the Constitution giving special status to Kashmir while whoever gives anti-country slogan would be in jail,” he said, adding that the country has seen the development phase during the past five years of the NDA rule.
Hitting out at the opposition, he said when India went for an airstrike, the Congress and the SP-BSP leaders along with Pakistan were depressed. “These opposition have always encouraged terrorism and have given their patronage for their vote bank politics,” Mr Shah alleged. (UNI)
