Modi Govt will never compromise with India’s sovereignty: BJP

JAMMU, Sept 1: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu & Kashmir today said that Government of India's firm rejection of the illegal award passed by the so-called Court of Arbitration at Hague concerning the Indus Waters Treaty is a clear and resolute assertion of India's sovereignty and national interest.

In a press release issued today Parimoksh Seth, spokesperson, BJP J&K said that the Modi Government has once again demonstrated that India's sovereignty, security and national interests will never be compromised under any circumstances. The Government of India led by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has made it clear that the so-called Court of Arbitration was illegally constituted and it has no jurisdiction to pronounce upon India's sovereign decisions taken by India in its national interests.

The Modi Government has shown that New India will not allow any foreign forum or illegally constituted body to dictate terms and conditions on matters concerning India's sovereign rights. The national interest and the security of the country will always remain paramount for Modi Government said Parimoksh Seth.

He said BJP J&K strongly supports the Government's position that the proceedings and pronouncements of the illegally constituted arbitration body have no bearing on India's sovereign decisions.
