SRINAGAR, May 23: In order to discuss the implementation of Mobile Fertilizer Monitoring System (MFMS) in Kashmir division, a joint meeting of the representatives of various fertilizer companies and wholesale fertilizer dealers was held at Agriculture Complex Lal Mandi under the chairmanship of Director Agriculture, Kashmir Mushtaq Peerzada.
Director Agriculture Jammu Dr. S.S. Jamwal, who is also Controller Fertilizer, also attended the meeting.
It was given out that every effort is being put in to ensure that the fertilizer reaches the farmer in every nook and corner of the division. The Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers Government of India has launched MFMS Scheme in the country.
Under the system, the mobility of fertilizers will be monitored through SMS and for this purpose all wholesale and retail dealers will be required to have a post paid SIM Card, so that the supply of fertilizer is monitored through SMS, the meeting was informed.
It was decided that all the wholesale dealers who will be provided an ID will complete the uploading of data by June 15, 2014, so that in 2nd phase data of retail dealers is uploaded.
It was also decided that National Fertilizer Ltd. (NFL) will conduct an awareness camp at Srinagar to orient wholesale dealers about the scheme and its objectives. Director Agriculture urged the stake holders to ensure data uploading and completion of other requisite formalities within the stipulated time.
