NOWSHERA, July 3: Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) general secretary and spokesman Ravinder Sharma (MLC) has stressed for promoting pilgrim tourism in the area.
The Congress Legislator who conducted extensive tour of this constituency including Pukharni, Drunigalla and Chhalla said that tourism promotion in this area will help in raising economic condition of the people of this border belt. He said there were many shrines like Baba Khori, Temple Veer Bhadesar near LoC, Guru- ki-Bowli etc. This temple at Pir Bhadesar was constructed by Raja Kanishak and it is said to be the one of the most ancient temples in the region. This temple is now taken care of by the Army and the civil authorities are needed to further develop it.
Addressing meetings in the area the MLC assured the locals to project this issue before the Government. He also listened to the problems of the people and regretted that a vast stretch of the area was without a 10 plus two school as a result the people are facing great hardships. He appraised the people about the efforts of Government to uplift minority communities under PM’s programme based on the recommendations of Justice Sachhar Committee as a result Nowshera block will get Rs 10 crore for upliftment of minority community area. The MLC also assured to take up the issues of water and power with the concerned authorities. He announced to provide funds for providing ambulance to Sub Centre, Pukharni and also at Katli in Bimblyas Panchayat. People from various political parties joined Congress during these meetings. BCC president Nowshera Harbans Bakshi, Chander Mohan Sharma, Ch Gulshed Ahmed, S. Isher Singh, S Charan Singh, Jitender Chib were also present.
