DODA, Mar 15: – MLA Doda Shakti Raj and MLA Bhaderwah, Daleep Singh today held an introductory meeting with all the district officers in the conference hall DC Office here.
Deputy Commissioner Doda, Bhupinder Kumar in his welcome address presented the various demands and issues pertaining to different departments in the district which includes vacancy positions in different departments, work done claims, liabilities, road restoration and damages to infrastructure, life and property during recent rains among others.
While reviewing the restoration work on the roads maintained by PWD and PMGSY Division Doda and Bhaderwah, MLAs were informed that 80 percent roads under PWD were restored while 10 out of 38 roads under PMGSY were restored till date. The concerned officers raised concerns over the paucity of funds under SDRGF and other schemes, which MLA’s promised to raise at the right forum for redressal in time bound manner.
Excess of Electric Power load on the various divisions of PDD was another burning issue raised by the Executive Engineer PDD Doda, as against the demand of 70 MWh only 48 MWh power supply is currently supplied to the district, which results frequent power cuts as required to save the transformers from damages. In this regard the elected representatives asked them to submit a proposal for augmentation of Power supply so that it could be discussed and pursued with the concerned Power Minister.
More than 100 Water Supply schemes received minor to major damages during the recent torrential rain fall from February 2015 till date, XEn PHE Doda revealed and which needs immediate restoration he further said. He also demanded the release of funds on priority basis for procurement of material to restore and repair the damaged Water Supply Schemes in the district so that the portable drinking water could be supplied to the common masses. MLA Doda in this context assured to take up the matter at higher level for its redressal. Besides the progress and issues of Rural Development Department, Revenue Department etc were thread barely discussed in the meet.
MLA Bhaderwah Mr. Daleep Singh stressed on close coordination between elected representatives and officers / officials for achieving the goal of proper public service delivery to the people.
SSP Doda Z.N Manhas, ADC (PO ICDS) Doda Surat Singh, ACD Doda Dhananter Singh, ACR Doda, Vaibhav Kohli, CPO Doda, Y.S Katoch, XEn PDD, PWD (R&B), PMGSY, I&FC, PHE and other District officers attended the meeting.
