DODA, Aug 1: Police recovered the body of missing cop from river Chenab near Trungal bridge in Assar area.
As per police sources, on July 20 this year, a man namely Zaffar Hussain, son of late Abdul Qayoom Shah of Gangatha, at present Ward Number 3 Bun lodged a complaint with Police Station Doda stating that his brother Ikhlaq Ahmed, presently serving as follower in IR 5th Battalion at Beoli went missing.
Acting over the complaint, a missing report was entered into the daily dairy of Police Station Doda and hunt has been launched to trace out the missing cop.
Today, the body of Ikhlaq Ahmed was found floating in river Chenab near Trungal Bridge in Assar by some locals, who informed the police.
On getting information, police team rushed to the spot and shifted the dead body to mortuary of District Hospital Doda for autopsy.
Doda police has already taken cognizance in this regard.
