Mir takes stock of people’s problems, developmental needs

SRINAGAR, June 9: Minister for Tourism Ghulam Ahmad Mir made an extensive tour of hilly and remote villages of Dooru Constituency.
During the tour, the Minister who is also the local representative of the area took stock of people’s day to day problems and developmental needs and directed the concerned officers to mitigate the genuine demands besides ensure the benefits of welfare schemes accrue to the needy ones in the area.
The Minister during the tour visited village Hallan Chugund, Batagund, Matapora, Kushipora, Dooru, Badermuna, Kakagund and Larkipora. He interacted with the people, listened to their problems and developmental needs and assured early redressal.
During the tour, the Minister also addressed a series of public meetings in these villages and said that reaching out to every area is the guiding principle in the development process launched by the Government across the State, aiming at equitable and all round development of all the regions and sub-regions. He said special focus is on fast track development of remote and backward pockets of the State besides weaker sections of the society.
The Minister reaffirmed that being the local representative equal development of all the areas was my priority and no injustice would be done to any area of the constituency on the developmental front. He assured the people that all their genuine developmental needs would be carried out in a phased manner. He also impressed upon the officers to solve the people’s genuine problems and developmental needs on priority.
Meanwhile the Minister also convened public grievance camps in several villages during the tour, where in, the locals besides Panchs and Sarpanchs put forth their developmental demands related with upgradation of power, drinking water, and healthcare and road connectivity facilities.
The Minister gave patient hearing to the people and said that their genuine demands would be considered duly.
