Minority Migrant Cell delegation calls on Speaker

JAMMU, Dec 31: Speaker Legislative Assembly Mubarak Gul today said that the State Government, under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, during last 5 years, has paid focussed attention towards the all-round development of the State, adding that keen attention has been paid to expand education, health, road connectivity, drinking water and power supply facilities in all the regions of the State.
This was stated by the Speaker while interacting with the delegation of Minority Migrant Cell who called on him to discuss various issues related to Kashmiri Pandits.
He said that for peace is essential and imperative for the sustained development of the State as no nation can develop unless there was permanent peace and tranquillity.
Recalling the slogan of Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah “Hindu, Muslim Sikh Itihad”, Mr. Gul said that late leader’s contribution in strengthening the communal brotherhood in the State of will be remembered for ever.
The Speaker said that the Kashmir was incomplete without Kashmiri Pandits and appealed them to return to the Valley. He asked them that the Government was very serious for return of the Kashmir Pandits, adding that every possible help will be extended to them. He said that Prime Ministers package for unemployed migrant youth has helped many to gain jobs and return to the Valley.
Responding to the demands including timely distribution of ration, updating of voter lists, special recruitment for migrants, early completion of hospital besides better water and power supply to TRT Jagti, the Speaker assured them that their genuine problems and developmental needs would be projected to the concerned departments on priority.
With regard to the implementation of Temple and Shrine Bill, Mr. Gul said that Select Committee headed by the Minister of Law and Parliamentary Affairs has been constituted and it is working on it. The Speaker asked the Kashmiri Pandits to submit their suggestions and views to the Committee for incorporating in the proposed bill.
Earlier, the heads and executive members of Migrant Minority Cell NC, Migrant Coordination Committee Jagti and Migrant Industrialists put their demands.
The delegation members included Ex-MLC B. L. Bhat, Ashok Koul, M. K. Yogi and Dash Rattan.
