JAMMU, June 1: A minor girl was allegedly raped by a youth in village Dhanaka, falling under the jurisdiction of Nowshera police station.
As per police sources, a youth identified as Sanjeev Kumar of village Dhanaka allegedly raped a 12-year-old girl hailing from same area. After committing the crime, the accused fled from the spot leaving behind the victim in unconscious state.
Some passerby noticed the girl lying unconscious and informed the police.
On getting information, police rushed to the spot and rushed the girl to Sub District Hospital (SDH), Nowshera from where she was later referred to District Hospital Rajouri for advance treatment. The condition of the girl was stated to be critical, when reports last came in.
The accused has been arrested, while a case under relevant sections has been registered at police station Nowshera and further investigation into the case is going on.
