SAMBA, Aug 4: A minor girl was injured after being hit by a vehicle at village Mananu area of Samba today.
According to the report, the mishap occurred at Samba -Mansar Dhar road near village Mananu under the jurisdiction of Police Station Samba, when a vehicle bearing Registration Number JK02AM- 7886 coming from Mansar side, on reaching near village Mananu suddenly hit a stray cow and then a minor girl child who was standing on road side.
After the incident, the driver along with the car fled from the spot. The stray cow died on the spot and the minor girl got critically injured. She was immediately brought to District Hospital Samba for treatment, after giving first aid to her, the doctors referred her to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Jammu for further treatment.
The injured has been identified as Anshu Devi, 8, daughter of Vijay Singh resident of village Mananu Samba.
In this regard police have taken cognizance of the matter and started investigation.
