RAMBAN, Sept 1: A 10-year-old girl was injured after she was allegedly hit by a motorcycle at Shaheed Sarfaraz Chowk in Batote area of Ramban district this evening.
The injured was identified as Sumaiya Bano, daughter of Nazir Ahmed, resident of Chaka Kundi, Rajgarh and she was allegedly hit by a motorcycle bearing registration number JK19-6488, being driven rashly by a local minor boy.
Following accident, the injured girl was immediately shifted to Community Health Centre, Batote, where doctors provided her medical treatment.
BMO Batote, Dr Vijay Kumar, said that the girl was out of danger.
According to victim's aunt, Husan Bano, she was walking along the road with Sumaiya, her mother and brother when the motorcycle hit the girl.
Police has detained the rider and started investigation in the case.
The incident has once again raised concerns over rash and negligent driving, particularly by minors, in busy areas of Batote.
