RAJOURI, Feb 6: In a tragic road mishap, a rashly driven car crushed a 4th class student to death in Jawahar Nagar area of Rajouri town this evening.
Deceased, identified as Sarthik Kesar, son of Anil Kumar, resident of the Jwahar Nagar (near Sat Palace), was returning home with his parents after visiting his grandfather’s house at village Sankari.
Sources said while Sarthik was moving on roadside, a rashly driven car, on the Rajouri-Kalakot-Jammu road, after hitting Sarthik fell in a ditch causing minor injuries to the driver.
Before the family members accompanying Sarthik could call for help, the driver of the car fled the spot, sources added.
Sarthik was rushed to Government Medical College, Hospital Rajouri where doctors declared him as brought dead.
Sources added that the driver of the car reportedly was untrained and instead of applying brake, he pressed the accelerator and the car went out of control and crushed Sarthik to death on the spot.
The police registered a case, seized the car and started investigation, including identification of the driver.
