Migrants demand supply of ration

JAMMU, Aug 21: The migrants of various camp and non-camp areas have expressed concern over delay in disbarment of ration for the month of August.
In their separate statements, JCC leaders Dilip Pandita and Vinod Tickoo, SP Migrant Cell convener, Mr Labroo, NC leader Ashok Hangloo and JTC president Shadi Lal Pandita have urged the authorities to make immediate arrangements for the supply of ration on migrant ration depots in camps and non camp areas as the people are facing many hardships. They said the month of August is near end and still the ration has not been dispatched to ration depots creating a lot of resentment among the people.
They warned that if the supply of ration was delayed they will be forced to come to streets and demanded that the sugar quota be also supplied at the rate of 1 kg per family.
They also expressed concern over thrashing of two private migrant employees working with a contractor at Sonamarg by a JE of Tourism Devel-opment Corporation (TDC) and some goons today and demanded action against them.
