POONCH, July 23: A villager hailing from Mendhar area, died of burn injuries in GMC hospital Jammu today.
The deceased has been identified as Rashid Ahmed, son of Hakam Din, resident of Salwa village in Mendhar. He was caught in major flames when he was trying to save his minor nephew and wife of his brother, who were burning badly after LPG leaked and cylinder caught fire in their kitchen at Salwa on July18. All three with serious burns were shifted to SDH Mendhar and then referred to GMC Hospital Jammu the same day.
The police said today morning, Rashid succumbed to injuries in Burn Ward of GMC Hospital, Jammu. His body was removed to his home village this afternoon. Condition of his Bhabhi, Tazeem Akhtar , wife of Altaf was also said to be serious. There was some improvement in the condition of 13-year-old, Tahir, who had sustained 50 % burns.
