Melissa McCarthy will return for ‘Gilmore Girls’ revival

LOS ANGELES, Apr 8: “Bridesmaids” star Melissa McCarthy has revealed that she would reprise her role as Sookie St James in the “Gilmore Girls” revival.
The 45-year-old actress announced the good news when stopping by “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”.
McCarthy told the audience that while they initially could not get the schedules to work, she just learned one-and-a-half hours before her appearance on the daytime talk show that she would return after all, reported Ace Showbiz.
“I’m so excited… And they’re gonna be amazing,” she said.
Series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino previously said that they kept hope alive for McCarthy’s appearance while filming is still underway.
“We’re here until May 10. I know what the scene is. I’ll pre-light it for her. She can drive up, run in, shoot it, and run out. I can get her in and out in two hours. If she finds that time, I don’t care when it is, we will make it happen.”
McCarthy will reunite with Lauren Graham who will return as Lorelai Gilmore, Sookie’s best friend.
Alexis Bledel, Scott Patterson, Kelly Bishop, Yanic Truesdale, Keiko Agena, Liza Weil, Danny Strong, Milo Ventimiglia, Jared Padalecki and Matt Czuchry have also been confirmed to return for the four-episode continuation. (PTI)
