‘Meet the poet programme’ organized

JAMMU, Apr 28: The Department of Urdu, University of Jammu, in collaboration with Qasmi Qutub Khana Jammu, organized ‘Meet the poet programme’ here today.
The reputed poet of the state Ahmed Shanas was the invited poet, who interacted with the students, scholars and faculty members. The program was presided over by noted critic and former HoD Urdu Kashmir University Prof Quddose Javed while Prof M A Wani was the chief guest on the occasion.
While interacting with the audience, Ahmed Shanas of Rajouri, informed that he started writing poetry during his school days and was impressed by Allama Iqbal’s poetry. His two collections  of poetry have  been published. ‘Pas-e-Ashaki’ was his 1st poetry collection and “Sala Sal” the second one.
Earlier, Prof Shohab Inayat Malik, HoD Urdu, discussed the aims and objectives of organizing the program.
