JAMMU, June 5: Common-wealth Gold medalist Meenal Gupta, the student of 11th class of Jodhamal Public School became first ever women player of Jammu and Kashmir State to defeat Men International Master.
She defeated International Master from Chennai Navin kanna T.U in the ongoing 11th Mumbai Mayor’s International Grandmaster Chess Champio-nship in Mumbai in A category.
216 players including 50 from 12 different countries are participating in the Rs35 lakh total cash prize money highly reputed event.
Her coach Vivek Bharti and office bearers of All J&K Chess Association have congratulated her for maiden win against a strong Men International Master and wished her good luck for future.
