JAMMU, Nov 27: Medanta–The Medicity and BLK Super Speciality Hospital in Delhi introduced CyberKnife-VSI Robotic Radiosurgery System, a breakthrough technology for cancer and tumor treatment, making the first-in-country CyberKnife-VSI Systems in India.
Medanta-The Medicity Cancer Institute and the Roentgen-BLK Radiation Oncology Center will now provide patients treatment with the CyberKnife System and expand the patient population that can now benefit from CyberKnife radiosurgery and stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) in the region.
The CyberKnife-VSI Robotic Radiosurgery System offers more effective and painless treatment option while ensuring higher patient comfort.

According to Dr Tejinder Kataria, Chairperson, Medanta Division of Radiation Oncology, CyberKnife-VSI Robotic Radiosurgery System’s unique architecture and tracking capability, results in an extremely accurate delivery of radiation that spares surrounding healthy tissues and critical organs from damage. Radiation oncology team at Medanta plans to focus on CyberKnife radiosurgery for lung, liver, pancreas and prostate treatments besides head, neck and spine treatments, he informed.
