JAMMU, Mar 6: State BJP general secretary, Yudhvir Sethi along with Corporator Ward 10, Jammu East, Anil Masoom distributed golden cards among Ayushman Bharat beneficiaries here, today.
The function was also joined by Mayor JMC, Chander Mohan Gupta, Ex-Minister & BJP spokesperson, Priya Sethi, corporator & district president, BJP, Baldev Singh Billoria and number of other senior leaders from Jammu East.
Speaking on the occasion, BJP State general secretary, Yudhvir Sethi said that lakhs of beneficiaries have got themselves registered under Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana-Ayushman Bharat and are seeking its benefits. He added that people who until were left to fend for themselves have been provided with health insurance coverage of Rs five lakh per family annually.
While distributing cards amongst the beneficiaries, Yudhvir added that Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has launched this scheme which is not only providing insurance cover to the people but also giving them a sense of security. All previous Governments, he added never cared for these people and worked for self. This is for the first time that such a scheme is getting vibrant response and its beneficiaries are praising the move of NDA Government which is working towards helping families living Below Poverty Line (BPL).
He also asked party cadres to prepare for forthcoming elections and ensure that every eligible voter is registered and possesses valid voter identity card.
Anil Masoom, Corporator Ward 10 who has organized the programme said that the scheme is aimed at providing health protection cover to poor and vulnerable families to reduce their out-of-pocket expenditure on healthcare.
He added that the scheme provides cashless and paperless access to services for the beneficiaries at the point of service in any empanelled hospitals, both in public and private sector, across the country.
He asserted that Ayushman Bharat Scheme is a revolutionary decision taken by the Union Government in the larger interest of poor people of the country. The welfare of people, he said is utmost priority of BJP led Government and urged people to seek benefits of all schemes launched during past five years.
The cards were distributed by the presidium members based on the data of Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC). They also urged those present to take advantage of several other welfare schemes initiated by the Government.
