Mayawati hits out at Samajwadi Party

LUCKNOW, June 16:
Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati has hit back on the Samajwadi Party on Wednesday after over five rebel BSP MLAs met the Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday.
Mayawati lashed out at the SP for trying to get mileage in the district panchayat chairman elections.
In a series of tweets, the BSP president said, “Propagating by the Samajwadi Party, which specializes in narrow politics of hate manipulation, malice and casteism etc., with the help of media that some BSP MLAs are breaking into SP and going to SP is a hoax.”
“Whereas long ago he has been suspended from the BSP for defeating the son of a Dalit in the Rajya Sabha elections in connivance with SP and an industrialist,” she said.
The former UP CM further said, “If SP had been honest towards these suspended MLAs, it would not have kept them in limbo till now. Because they know that if these BSP MLAs are taken, there will be rebellion and split in SP, there are leaders who are eager to join BSP.
Further slamming the SP, she said, “Obviously, SP’s character and face have always been anti-Dalit, in which it is not ready to improve even a little. For this reason, in the SP government, the works of the BSP government were stopped and especially changed the making of Bhadoi as a new Sant Ravidas Nagar district, which is highly condemnable.”
She said, “By the way, this new drama of SP done yesterday to publicize the media about meeting the suspended MLAs of BSP, etc., seems more like a maneuver done for the election of the president and the block chief after the panchayat elections in UP. BSP people in UP has emerged as a party of aspirations which will continue.” In 2019 Lok Sabha polls, SP and BSP were in alliance but after the elections they parted their ways blaming each other for the loss.
