CHENANI, May 23: Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) legislator from Chenani Assembly Segment, Balwant Singh Mankotia, today conducted a public darbar at Kotli Balla panchayat near Laddan Morh, where locals turned up in higher numbers and highlighted their grievances.
The programme was attended by officers from different Government departments, ex-PRI members, social activists, and prominent citizens.
A statement said residents of Pachote panchayat and adjoining villages raised issues related to road connectivity, drinking water supply, electricity, healthcare services, educational infrastructure, and other civil amenities.
It said Mankotia took immediate cognizance of the demands and complaints of the people present in the darbar and directed the concerned departments to redress their grievances promptly.
Addressing those present in the darbar, the MLA Chenani said that the objective of holding darbars at panchayat level was to bridge the gap between the administration and the common people by providing them governance at their doorsteps.
He said such programmes prove highly beneficial as people get an opportunity to directly interact with the elected representative as well as the Government officers.
Mankotia assured people that similar outreach programmes would be conducted in every panchayat in the coming days to make the departments more responsive to the needs of the people.
The locals appreciated the BJP MLA for personally listening to their grievances and taking immediate steps for their resolutions.
