RAJOURI, Mar 7: A 52-year old villager was knocked to death by an Alto car near Thanna-Mandi this morning.
The deceased has been identified as Mir Hussain, son of Saab Din, resident of Pulwari Khablan in Thannamandi tehsil. The mishap took place when the deceased was moving along the road side. An Alto K-10 car No. JK11B/0386 hit him from the back at Bharatpuri near a bridge. He was thrown away and received head injuries. The car driver, said to be a minor boy escaped from the spot leaving behind the vehicle. It belonged to Sarpanch Nassarullah. The police registered a case in this connection. The body of the deceased was shifted to Hospital for postmortem by SHO and later it was handed over to the family.
