JAMMU, June 7: A man with leg pain died today after being administered injections by a medical store owner at Khour in Akhnoor area of city outskirts.
According to the reports, the victim namely Raj Kumar (43) son of Gyan Chand of Khour had severe leg pain since yesterday and as the pain persisted, the family members this afternoon took him at a chemist shop in Khour area, where owner of the pharmacy namely Ram Pal administered him two injections to reduce pain.
The victim returned to his home after taking injections but after around one hour, he felt breathlessness after which the family members again took him to chemist shop but on finding the shop closed, he was rushed to CHC Khour but as it was sealed due to detection of some Corona case there, the victim had to be taken to SDH Akhnoor, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors.
The family members alleged that the man died due to reaction caused by injections administered by the chemist shop owner but as no written complaint was submitted by them, Khour police has initiated inquest proceeding under 174 CrPC in the case.
SDPO Akhnoor, Ajay Sharma said that they have received no written complaint against the chemist from the family members of the deceased and therefore, only inquest proceeding has been initiated into the matter.
