JAMMU, Apr 15: A 57-year old man who allegedly tried to end his life last evening by consuming some poisonous substance, at his residence in Kathua district, today passed away at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu.
According to a police spokesperson, the man identified as Darshan Singh son of Jaimal Singh, a resident of Lachhipur in Kathua district had allegedly tried to kill him by consuming some poisonous substance at his residence last evening.
The family members immediately shifted him to Government Hospital in Kathua, from where he was later shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where he expired this morning.
After conducting postmortem, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites.
The concerned police has already taken cognizance of the matter.
