JAMMU, Aug 14: Thathri police arrested a man along with illicit liquor pouches.
As per police sources, based on reliable information, a team from Thathri police station laid a naka and intercepted a person, who was trying to hide himself from the cops.
During checking, police recovered 36 pouches of illicit liquor from the possession of the man and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Ranjit Singh, son of Prithvi Raj, a resident of Jodhpur, district Doda, at present Thathri.
The accused person runs a meat shop at Thathri and was about to sale the illicit liquor pouches among the masses on Independence Day tomorrow as the day is dry day.
A case under FIR Number 57/17 under Section 4A Excise Act has been registered at Thathri police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Thathri Inspector Manjeet Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Bhaderwah Brijesh Sharma, Additional SP Bhaderwah Shaazad Salaria and SSP Doda Mohammad Shabir.
